5 minute salsa recipe

IMG_3590I can’t get enough of this 5 minute salsa!  I’ll never go back to buying salsa again because this recipe is quick, fresh, inexpensive, and fun to make.

Fresh Tomato Salsa

Adapted from The Pioneer Woman Restaurant Style Salsa Recipe


  •             1 can (28 Ounce) whole fire roasted tomatoes {reserve juice}
  •             1 can (14.5 Ounce) whole tomatoes {reserve juice}
  •             3/4 cup chopped onion
  •             2 cloves garlic, minced
  •             1 whole jalapeno, diced
  •             1/2 teaspoon salt
  •             1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  •             1 cup cilantro
  •             2 tablespoons lime juice


Chop onion, mince garlic, and dice jalapeno

In a blender or food processor, add all ingredients together

Pulse approximately 8 times (or until you get the consistency that you like)

Adjust seasoning to your taste preference

Add reserved juice if you need more liquid

Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving {if you can hold out that long!}


Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.  Makes a large batch, approximately 3 pints.
